WSTP? Minisode #10

Gear up for the 10th minisode! This week, we discuss Shark Week, the correlation between crocodiles and meth, pigeon drug smugglers, geese in thongs... we did NOT plan on so many animal stories, but sometimes a plan just comes together.
Also, Kristaps Porziņģis, Jaws, and more of the famous 'falling in love' test that Fuzzy Dan is throwing at us, a few questions at a time.

One interesting occurrence to keep an ear out for is at the 11 minute mark. Eagle-eared listeners may be able to tell that pre 11:00 we are fairly restrained, and then something happens. What happened is Nick & Lachlan from Picture This arrived, so we put a pin in our minisode to record Ep 39: The Terminal Velocity, only to return to it at midnight after a silly amount of alcohol.

The other thing you will have noticed, is our new theme song. We LOVE it, and hope you do too! It was crafted for us personally by the creator of our original theme - Jay Curtis aka Lysdexic. He's the big cheese at Hopskotch Records, so if you like it, and you're into grimey, dirty, breaky hip hop / beats, show him some love! Also, that sexy voiceover if you could not tell, is our wonderful friend Chris Braaten from the 'More Gooder Than' podcast.

We close out this week with a song from Crowded House, personal favourite of WSTP - and aptly, as they started their careers in NZ and moved it to AUS, much like Fuzzy Dan. We cover their song 'Better Be Home Soon'. We figured it was a good one to bust out before we head stateside to see our American friends!

We talk to you wonderful listeners in between episodes for specific questions, but if you have something random to ask, a suggestion for an episode (or song), or just a ridiculous movie related story, get onto our Facebook or mailbag! If you are an Apple Podcasts (iTunes) user, head on over to give us a killer review! Do you know anyone that may like our show? Send em our way!

Episode 39 - The Terminal Velocity

Attention, lovely pundits! This is your drunk captain speaking. Please make sure your tray tables are locked and your seats are upright. Assume the brace position and prepare for a Tom Hanks / Charlie Sheen flight to the death! 2004's Señor Spielbergo family romp 'The Terminal' - up again'st 1994's Deran Serafian spectacle 'Terminal Velocity'.

We are joined this week by our buddies Nick & Lachlan from the Picture This podcast. An outstanding time was had by all!

Assless chaps, tequila chugging, soot-face, Keyser Söze, Sisqó, flying Cadillacs, skydiving rants, Stanley Tucci as a cyborg... this episode has it all. Most of all, it spawned a new sovereign nation - BONETOWN! For some reason (read: boys with mics) we grab onto this new buzzword and ride it until the wheels fall off. Beware! And for the first time ever, we've put in a soundbite for almost every mention of a ridiculous word just to illustrate how committed we got. Hint - it was over 60.

We close out this week's episode with a quick cover of REM's 'The One I Love'. Enjoy!

WSTP? Minisode #9

Time for minisode 9! We get nasty with the week's news, talk about our weeks, and head to the internet to talk to you wonderful pundits.

Kiss, Third Eye Blind, Puddle of Mudd, Will Smith, Pete Murray, what a goddamn list. Ridiculous.

Miniature horse love, wandering cats, the London Cocktail Club, terrible movies, racist uncles, and as always, lots of random movie quotes.

See y'all next week for our episode with Nick & Lachlan from Picture This! - The Terminal Velocity. Tom Hanks vs Charlie Sheen... who will reign supremo?

This week Bradlee recorded a song for friend of the podcast Bron. A little Birthday treat, as she's been asking for that song for a while :) Please enjoy - Mark Lanegan's Gravedigger's Song.

Episode 38 - Get Him To The Big Fat Greek Wedding

Puff Diddy Daddy strikes again! Get your plates out & prepare to smash them on our command. For this episode we pit Russell Brand against Nia Vardalos. Jonah Hill against John Corbett. Sean Combes against a bottle of Windex. Who will win? Stroke the furry wall and find out.

Join in to hear about 2010's Get Him To The Greek, directed by Nicholas Stoller, starring Russell Brand & Jonah Hill. Against 2002's My Big Fat Greek Wedding, directed by Joel Zwick, starring Nia Vardalos & John Corbett.

As usual, we started this episode close to midnight after recording a minisode, so the drinks were clearly flowing like the Thames & the rambling was on full throttle.

What really defines a mullet? Why the fuck is Joey Fatone in this? What's with the Windex? Why do we talk about Colm Meaney's ass? Does ecstasy really go with saganaki? Is Lance Bass really ill-tempered & mutated? None of these questions and more, carefully examined this week on Who Spiked The Puns!

We close out this week with a cover of The Cure's 'The Love Cats'. Please enjoy!

WSTP? Minisode #8

Minisode 8 is here! It includes Al Pacino on cocaine (it's a hell of a drug!), Deathkloks, Russian freeway craziness, Aussie Kiwi freeway craziness (looking at you FUZZY), free beer, scurvy, Christmas bathmats, James Lipton, market-price dildos, and of course Simpsons references!

This week we took to Twitter and challenged Bradlee to a movie song showdown. Unfortunately for Bradlee, the winner was Seal's Kiss From A Rose (Batman Forever, ugh!) so he had to try & sing Seal's very complex complexities. Hint, it didn't go so well, but he's not one to back out of a deal! Thanks for voting, and maybe we'll cover the other 3 songs down the road. Because they're all bangers.

PEACE!

Episode 37 - Happiness Gilmore - One Year Anniversary!

Well, we made it, Pundits! On June 10 last year, we dropped Episode Zero - Above The Pacific Rim... Now a year later, we've managed to keep our average episode drops to every single week (with a few in the bag). We hope you've enjoyed our minisodes, special episodes, outtakes, & reboots as much as we enjoyed making them. Being the full-time-working, hard-drinking, social butterflies we are... this achievement alone was against all odds.

So here it is, Episode 37. And to hit this milestone in true WSTP dark fashion, we bring you Happiness Gilmore! 1998's sardonic masterpiece Happiness, directed by Todd Solondz... and comedy classic Happy Gilmore, directed by Dennis Dugan. Will these 2 mash together? Listen and see - we think you'll be pleasantly (or unpleasantly) surprised.

Singing, multiple-drink-spilling (looking at YOU, Fuzzy!), and more puns than you can poke a stick at. It's even got Predator crossovers, excited southern accents, dirty phone calls, and semen-loving alligators. And to cap it all off, we close out with our first topical song - My Happiness by defunct Australian band Powderfinger. Please enjoy!

We talk to you wonderful listeners in between episodes for specific questions, but if you have something random to ask, a suggestion for an episode (or song), or just a ridiculous movie related story, get onto our Facebook or mailbag! THANK YOU from the 3 of us for supporting our first year on air!

WSTP? Minisode #7

Welcome to Minisode 7! This week we cover Flat-Earth fuckwits, tight-ass first dates, cliff-diving, free cocaine, nuts on pizza, and more GOUTWATCH!™

We take to the Twitterverse to see what y'all had to say about movie walkouts & TV turnoffs.

We'll be back next week with our one-year anniversary episode! And to 'celebrate', we're pushing the limits yet again, and bringing you HAPPINESS GILMORE! You know we love our disparate mashups, and this is certainly no exception. If you haven't seen Happy Gilmore, please venture out from the rock you're living under and watch Adam Sandler get his ass handed to him by Bob Barker on a golf course. If you haven't seen Happiness, firstly we're not surprised, and secondly... brace yourselves & watch it. It's indie as all get-out, but the cast is huge & it's super dark. Let's just leave it there.

A HUGE thank you to everybody who's listened & supported us over the last 12 months - what a fun year it's been! We can't wait to bring you more crazy content, and a lot of podcast crossovers in the coming months. You're all so amazing.

Bradlee did a guitar cover in the work van this week, and it's the Mark Lanegan song St. Louis Elegy. Please enjoy!

Episode 36 - Casino Man w/Chris Braaten (More Gooder Than)

Is it really possible for Pauly Shore to basically be the hero of 2 entire films - one of them a Scorsese 'masterpiece'? Sean Astin says no, and Joe Pesci probably would too, if he wasn't busy being shoved in a hole.

This week we are joined by the bodacious Chris Braaten from our Californian buddies More Gooder Than. This was our first time on air together, getting ready for our podcasts joining forces in August - when Bradlee & Fuzzy head stateside!

Hear us struggle to picture De Niro as anything other than 100% Italiano mobster. Hear us praise James Woods' drug addict convenience store clerk scumbag. How is Pauly Shore not dealing FAT BAGS of sweet stinky weed? How did Brendan Fraser learn to dance bad choreography on the spot?!? Why does Dom Deluise's son look like Guile from Street Fighter? Is that Robin Tunney?? That's mental(ist).

We close out this episode with a cover of Four Letter Word, by seminal Sacramento band Cake. Made even funnier by Fuzzy looking just like John McCrea, with less vibraslap and political rhetoric.

WSTP? Minisode #6

The first question to ask is; Will Fuzzy Dan make it to the end of the episode without the Chestburster exploding forth from his lungs? You'll have to wait & find out!

For our 6th little minisode, we cover such topics as favourite movie props, favourite movie soundtracks, 'Uber or prostitute?', self-inflicted workplace injury, Cypress Hill - Hullabalooza style, Dillinger Escape Plan, Orgazmorators, jousting sticks, and of course - Neeko shitting on Tom Hanks!

It is with heavy hearts that we close out this episode with a tribute to the late GREAT Chris Cornell. Soundgarden were a major major influence on us musically, and we all agree that Cornell's singing was absolutely from another planet. Rest in peace, you magnificent man.

Next week, we drop Casino Man - featuring Chris 'Braato' Braaten from our Californian brothers More Gooder Than. It was a super fun time!

We hit up you wonderful listeners in between episodes for specific questions, but if you have something random to ask, a suggestion for an episode (or song), or just a ridiculous movie related story, get onto our Facebook or mailbag! Special Episode 2 - Alien Covenant Review w/Paul (The Countdown)

After some 50 episodes, & 84 movies mashed up, blended, and punched in the balls... we finally review our second movie that's actually showing at the cinema! The first one was the abomination that was Independence Day: Resurrection. Hint - This one was infinitely more fun!

We had Paul from The Countdown: Movie & TV Reviews Podcast join us from Perth. We had a blast discussing the Alien franchise as a whole, reviewing Covenant, spoiling Covenant, and predictions for the future with varying levels of seriousness. The scrapped Blomkamp project - Alien vs Chappie gets a mention.

Non-spoiler review until exactly 28 minutes... after that, buyer beware! Additionally, if you haven't even watched the trailers and plan on going in totally blind, we spoil those BEFORE 28 minutes. Just FYI! :)

We close out this episode with a stripped-down acoustic cover of Tool's H. Enjoy!

Episode 35 - Sleepers In Seattle

Every now and then, the 3 of us come across a mashup that proves hard to pick a winner. This may or may not be one of those. Stalking under the guise of romance, and systematic abuse under the guise of juvenile detention... this episode's got it all. Well, at least those 2 things. We do our best to tread lightly over the macabre subject matter of Sleepers, and conversely, we hold up Meg Ryan to the strictest scrutiny.

Will co-host Neeko & Tom Hanks ever make up? How many Meg Ryan puns can we fit into 30 seconds? Why are there so many links between Sleepers & Basketball Diaries? An early 90s Seattle-based film with no grunge?! And does Fuzzy Dan cough up all 3 of his lungs? None of these questions and more, this week on WSTP!

WSTP? Minisode #5

Welcome to the first WSTP release to drop under the 'Movie Pod Squad Network' umbrella! This week 10 film-related podcasts from across the cosmos decided to get together & form a Cyber Voltron. Even though this episode is a minisode, we had a blast recording it (we even recorded it before our Conan Reboot episode; as Aussies we truly are time-travellers).

What happens when you challenge multiple Olympic gold medalist Cathy Freeman to a race around the science museum? How many phone books do 8 year olds need to reach the pedals of their Ford Bronco? Why does Bradlee want to watch clips of Six Feet Under? Does Neeko really hate Seinfeld? Did Fuzzy make a Star Wars diss?

Also, we close out this week's ep. with our random cover of Pumped Up Kicks. Something we thought of out of the blue, and just rolled with it. Stay tuned in the coming weeks, because the list gets weirder and weirder!

Do you use iTunes? If so, pop over & give us a rating! We'd lurrrrve you forever, and it helps us bring more rad content to y'all! Any requests/suggestions for songs, puns, mashups, anything, hit us up :

Episode 34.5 - DAS REBOOT : Conan The Barbarian

It's Mr. Universe vs Khal Drogo - who will emerge victorious? This week we pit Conan against Conan, in our 6th Das Reboot installment (almost immediately mistaken by us for our 5th! Read: drunk jerks). We have a special guest this week; friend of the podcast & Conan superfan - Fil Franek. We also have beer, wine, and a lot of cheap scotch!

Exactly how many Game of Thrones crossovers are there? Should you really inhale someone's dying breath? If you can summon sand demons, why are they just as fragile as humans? Is this James Earl Jones' weirdest haircut ever?

Tune in this week to hear us let loose on this ancient phenomenon!

Also this week, we have included some music at the end. We're gonna start doing this as often as we can, covering a vast array of stuff we feel like playing during the week. To kick us off : Scissor Sisters - Laura! Nothing polished or mastered, just random jams. Any requests/suggestions for songs, puns, mashups, anything, hit us up :

WSTP? Minisode #4

Welcome to Richmond's wonderful Royston Hotel! This week we are on location at our local watering hole, where we are TOTALLY spoiled for beers and foods, so we thought we'd try our hands at a recording with background noise. We tried to filter the chatter down just right so we are loud & clear and they are, well... slightly less loud & slightly less clear.

Did you know that a caterpillar can sound like a giraffe? Does Bradlee really have scurvy? Did you know there's a Banksy of punctuation? How big has the Rick & Morty culture-net been cast? What's the opposite of being fisted by Hellboy? All these regular questions and more... answered this week on our fourth minisode!

Episode 34 - Escape From L.A. Confidential

There is no escape from this ridiculous episode. Whether it be our inability to say Snake Plissken (see fig. 1a - Snape Bizkit), our amusement at Rusty Crowe's tiny, sober chin, or even James Cromwell's long lost Irish accent. Join us as we discuss terrible CGI, pointlessly long run-times, Guy Pearce's staunch mouth, and why Kurt Russell's death-clock keeps telling him to have sex.

If you're new to the podcast, thanks so much for giving us a listen - we hope you enjoy your stay, and see our contact deets below if you have any feedback! We're always looking for questions and suggestions for future episodes. We're back to shoot the shite with you sexy pun pundits! Junkie parrots, coolers full of weed, Sly Stallone on the catwalk, magic mushroom bumper cars, bionic wrists, terrible Netflix shows, handing joints to Dave Chappelle... This one gets random!

We're REALLY enjoying the feedback, conversations, and completely bizarre topical wormholes we find ourselves in talking to y'all. So please keep it up! If you've got anything to ask us (no question is too bizarre, yet), and ideas for episodes, or you think we should be doing something differently, let your voices be heard! We love hearing from you. Episode 33 - Planes, Trains, & Auto Focus

Shhhmile for the camera, it's orgy time! This week it's our third dance with John Hughes (RIP), and our first dance with WSTP newcomer Paul Schrader. Together, they make an epic sex road trip for the ages - fuelled with Mile High Club shenanigans, dismembered bodies in trunks, incest with famous people, The Jerk TV series, and Willem Dafoe's used cock-rings.

Who's got the saddest sad-face? Who's got the craziest one-liner? Who's got the peskiest ding dong?

If you have any ideas for mashups or reboot episodes, or just wanna shoot to the breeze with us, see our deets below! And if you like what you hear, please consider throwing a rate / review our way; it helps us pop up on the radars so we can get more content to YOU - the Pundits

WSTP? Minisode #2

For Minisode #2... we touch on important hot-button topics such as U2, Nickelback, Cake at Starbucks, dumb carjackers, injured knees, PETA, movie trailers, bachelor parties, and more!

We had to cut this week slightly short due to recording our Logan review with the Shaken Not Nerd Podcast, so no Twitter Sweet Symphony this week. Our communicado with you amazing folks will be back with a vengeance (Die Hard style) for Minisode #3! Thanks for listening, and keep those tweets coming! Episode 32 - Sex, True Lies, and Videotape

The race is on to find out who is the creepiest mofo in this double-header for the ages. There is stiff competition, and we're not just talking about a horny Bill Paxton (RIP), or a masturbatory James Spader! Although both of those topics get quite the workout this week on episode 32.

Do horses really have ABS brakes? Is Peter Gallagher one of the biggest douches on screen ever? How the fuck is an "ass like a 10 year old boy" supposed to be a sleazy compliment? How does singing Third Eye Blind turn into a derogatory slur?

WSTP? Minisode #1

Welcome to the first official WSTP minisode! These are not our regular film mashups, nor are they Das Reboots... but instead just a quick recap of recent news, random rants, and answering your online correspondence.

Huey Lewis, Spikey Walken, Verve Twitter. They're all the hints you're gonna get, you'll just have to listen and see what the hell that all means!

Drugs in school, missing testes, soccer madness, Keanu Reeves (obviously), Nicolas Cage (obviously)... what a melting pot of cray cray.
